About Us

The Catahoula State Bank was founded in Jonesville, Louisiana in 1904. The original brick bank building was built at that time and was located at the corner of Mound and First Streets.

Captain J.W. Swayze was first president and Tom Mathews was the cashier. The Harrisonburg State Bank, Harrisonburg, Louisiana was issued a charter in 1907. The first board of directors were Riley J. Wilson, J.W. Waters, Dr. C.C. Pritchard, P.P. Bates, David N. Thompson, W.R. Webb, Tom B. Gilbert, Jr., M.F. Holloman, and Phil B. Crawford. The Catahoula State Bank, Jonesville, merged into the Harrisonburg State Bank, Harrisonburg, by resolution dated February 9, 1929, and became known as the Harrisonburg-Catahoula State Bank. It was upon the suggestion and recommendation of Judge R.M. Taliaferro, president, and with the approval of the board that the name of the bank be shortened to The Catahoula State Bank and popularly called The Catahoula Bank. This was done January 29, 1935. In March of 1992 The Catahoula State Bank opened a branch in Jena, Louisiana. At that time, The Catahoula State Bank was changed to Catahoula-LaSalle Bank.

The bank maintained continued success with four branches for the next twenty-two years when on November 17th, 2014 history was made. Two local, strong, stable banks with almost 200 years of experience between them decided to join together. Catahoula-LaSalle Bank and Bank of Jena merged together under the Catahoula-LaSalle Bank name. This both strengthened the banks presence and offerings in the existing communities while allowing it to branch out to new areas. Olla, and Holloway were added to the list of fine communities in which Catahoula-LaSalle Bank could call home. Now with double the people and double the size, Catahoula-LaSalle Bank is looking to continued success by staying true to what a true community bank should be. Taking care of the people and communities that make this all possible.
